Code of Conduct

1. Purpose
GenAI Community is a European professional network focused on the exchange of knowledge, experiences and opportunities in generative artificial intelligence, innovation and technology.
This Code of Conduct sets out the expected standards of behaviour to ensure a safe, respectful, inclusive and productive environment for everyone who is part of the community.
2. Scope
This Code applies to all people connected to GenAI Community, including community members, meetup attendees, Chapter Leads, speakers, sponsors, partners, collaborators, providers, the organising team, volunteers and anyone participating in the community's official activities, spaces or channels.
This includes, among others:
- In-person meetups.
- Online events.
- Slack, WhatsApp or other community platforms.
- Networking activities.
- Contributor, blog, newsletter or content programmes.
- Communications linked to GenAI Community.
3. Key Principles
GenAI Community is based on the following principles:
- Professional respect and dignified treatment in all interactions.
- Inclusion, diversity and equity as core pillars of the technology ecosystem.
- Ethical, constructive and responsible collaboration.
- High-quality knowledge exchange.
- Transparency, trust and professional best practices.
- Regulatory compliance, including the protection of personal data.
4. Expected Behaviour
All participants are expected to:
- Maintain professional, respectful and collaborative conduct.
- Foster constructive conversations based on the exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge.
- Respect different opinions, backgrounds, identities, cultures and contexts.
- Use the community's physical and digital spaces responsibly.
- Respect the rules of each event, channel or activity.
- Follow the instructions of the organising team, Chapter Leads or people responsible for the activity.
- Contribute to making the community a high-value space for learning, networking and collaboration.
- Use data, contacts and information shared within the community ethically and in accordance with applicable regulations.
5. Unacceptable Behaviour
The following behaviours will not be tolerated:
- Harassment, discrimination or intimidation based on gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, origin, nationality, religion, disability, physical appearance, personal situation or any other condition.
- Offensive, threatening, derogatory, humiliating or inappropriate language, whether verbal or written.
- Disruptive conduct that interferes with the normal development of events, conversations or community activities.
- Unauthorised use of images, recordings, personal data or third-party information.
- Collection, use or sharing of community contacts without consent.
- Aggressive, persistent or unauthorised promotion of products, services, jobs, events or external initiatives.
- Spam, unsolicited mass messages or commercial communications outside the framework authorised by the organisation.
- Use of community channels for misinformation, personal attacks, public conflicts or behaviours that damage the professional environment.
- Any behaviour that compromises the safety, integrity, privacy or wellbeing of others.
6. Use of Images, Content and Data
GenAI Community activities may be photographed or recorded for communication, dissemination and community documentation purposes.
Attendees accept their possible incidental appearance in these materials, unless they expressly inform the organising team otherwise.
Recording, publishing or sharing images, content, private conversations, presentations or third-party information without express authorisation is strictly prohibited.
Personal data shared within the framework of GenAI Community must be used only for authorised purposes and in accordance with the applicable privacy policy.
7. Sponsors, Partners and Collaborating Companies
Companies, sponsors and partners participating in GenAI Community must respect the professional, educational and community-driven nature of the initiative.
Their participation must be aligned with the community's values and may not imply control over chapters, content, editorial agenda or strategic decisions of GenAI Community.
Corporate visibility, speaker participation, data access or commercial actions will always be subject to prior approval by the organisation and to the corresponding consent of participants.
8. Chapter Leads and Local Representatives
Chapter Leads act as local representatives of GenAI Community and must promote a professional, inclusive environment aligned with this Code of Conduct.
Their role involves representing the community's values, facilitating local participation, ensuring the quality of activities and acting as a first point of reference when situations require attention.
The organisation reserves the right to review, suspend or terminate the collaboration with any Chapter Lead who breaches this Code or acts against the principles of GenAI Community.
9. Compliance and Reporting
Any situation that breaches this Code should be reported to the GenAI Community organising team through the official channels or directly to the people responsible for the relevant activity. You can also reach us at hello@genaicommunity.eu.
All reports will be handled with confidentiality, diligence and seriousness.
The organisation may request additional information, speak with the parties involved and take the necessary measures to protect the safety, privacy and wellbeing of the community.
10. Measures and Consequences
GenAI Community reserves the right to take any measures it considers appropriate in response to any breach, including:
- Verbal or written warning.
- Removal of inappropriate messages or content.
- Expulsion from an event, channel or activity.
- Temporary or permanent suspension from participating in the community.
- Revocation of the role of Chapter Lead, contributor, speaker, sponsor or partner.
- Prohibition from attending future GenAI Community or GenAI Summit Europe activities.
- Reporting to the relevant authorities when applicable.
11. Commitment
Participation in GenAI Community implies full acceptance of this Code of Conduct.
Everyone involved actively contributes to building a professional, safe, diverse community focused on learning, collaboration and the responsible development of the generative artificial intelligence ecosystem in Europe.
